ROCKVILLE, Maryland — Police say a suspect has been arrested in the killing of a woman who was found outside a church and school in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C.
Authorities didn’t immediately identify the suspect or disclose the cause of the woman’s death in Rockville on Friday evening. Montgomery County Police Officer Rick Goodale told the Washington Post that the slain woman suffered upper-body trauma.
Police say officers found the woman outside an entrance to the St. Raphael Catholic Church and School after responding to a report of an assault.
A message posted on St. Raphael School’s Twitter account said no school-related activities were scheduled on its campus Friday evening. The Archdiocese of Washington said in a statement that the incident doesn’t appear to be related to the parish or school.
