This isn’t exactly an ethics question, but here goes.

I am a morning person and my husband is a night owl. Mostly, this is okay, and over the years we’ve learned to accommodate one another’s schedules.

But sex is a problem. He feels amorous when he comes to bed – after I’m already asleep and too tired to respond. I tend to feel amorous in the morning, when he’s groggy. Each of us feels as if we are falling down on our marital obligations — and depriving ourselves and each other of human pleasure besides. But we can’t figure out how to fix it: “sex dates” feel so unromantic.
