Recent news reports say that football is a dangerous sport that should not be played by people younger than 20 years old. A third of young men who play college and professional football suffer significant cognitive impairment, according to these reports.

Catholic high schools and colleges have football teams. They are huge money-makers. (Think only of the Fighting Irish at Notre Dame.) Shouldn’t the Catholic bishops have something to say about this gladiator sport, which entertains millions, but does serious harm to its players?

Sincerely,
Disturbed
