The Faith and Liberty Discovery Center is designed to show the role religion, especially the Bible, played in the founding of the nation and continues to play to this day.
One of the biggest puzzles of the Bible is the Last Supper: The Gospels disagree on what night Jesus had his final meal with his closest friends. Whether or not Jesus’ Last Supper occurred on the evening of the Day of Preparation – that is, in the evening after the Passover lambs were slaughtered in the temple – as attested to in the three synoptic Gospels, or the day before (as attested to in the Gospel of John), it seems clear that Jesus emphasized the symbolism of this ancient rite as he gathered his followers around him.
As it turns out, it is perfectly probable that there were wise men who had the motive, the means and the method to pay homage to Jesus Christ just as Matthew recorded. The simple truth is that Matthew’s account is factual not fictional.
