Officials at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester are “stunned and saddened” over the death of sophomore Grace Rett, 20, a star rowing athlete who died from injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle crash early Jan. 15 in Florida during a winter training trip.
A Massachusetts bishop has called the notions of a New Testament scholar in his diocese “highly offensive and blasphemous,” and has called on his Jesuit college to ask him to publicly disavow his writings on the sexuality of Jesus.
A month after announcing it would continue to use the Crusader moniker, the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, now says it will no longer use the image of a knight to represent the school.
Despite objections some students and staff have to the name, saying it is insensitive, the College of the Holy Cross will continue to be known as the Crusaders.
