Once again, bishops and bishops’ conferences in various parts of the world seem to be offering differing interpretations of Pope Francis’s document on the family, “Amoris Laetitia.”
Archbishop Tomash Peta of Astana, Auxiliary Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Astana, and retired Archbishop Jan Pawel Lenga of Karaganda published a statement on “the immutable truths about sacramental marriage” in late December.
Pope Francis told the World Expo 2017 that the way we use energy resources is a sign of how well we are carrying out the task that has been entrusted to us by God, “namely to care for the world around us and for our fellow human beings of every time and place.” The Expo is taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan, and has the theme “Future Energy.”
