In a statement published on an anti-establishment website, radical feminists claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s bombing at Mexico’s Roman Catholic Council of Bishops. The alleged culprits said the attack was in response to “every torture and murder” made in the name of God.
It is still not known for sure what type of device was used in a bombing outside the headquarters of the Mexican Bishops’ Conference, and detectives are investigating the explosion. No one was injured in the attack.
For the past 10 years nearly 31,000 people have disappeared in Mexico due to the decades-long drug war and the bishops are speaking up. As families retrieve the bodies from mass graves, bishops call the government to action.
