Auxiliary Bishop Richard Umbers of Sydney, Australia, took part in the Vatican’s “baby bishops’ school” last year, and he’s got some “nutty” advice for this year’s class: “Make sure you organize a few lunches and dinners along the way. Make sure you make time to get to know some of those bishops in a more intimate setting. Build friendships there.”
“The explosion of streaming video, especially through our phones, means that people are open to the possibilities of what a video can show them. Like any media, streaming videos can be baptized and used to glorify God. Let’s not waste our time!” Steven Lewis, of ‘Steve the Missionary Channel’ on Youtube, said about the idea of a Catholic YouTube.
As of Sunday, Aug. 6, Pope Francis crossed the twelve-million mark for his Twitter following in English, and has over 36 million followers combined for nine accounts in different languages. That makes him both the most followed world leader and religious leader, though he’s only in the top thirty on the social media platform overall.
