Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise, the House majority whip, said he started to pray after being shot on June 14 at a practice for the annual Congressional Baseball Game. “I will tell you, it gave me an unbelievable sense of calm knowing that at that point it was in God’s hands,” he said. Scalise and his family are parishioners at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Metairie.
A priest of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Metairie was in Washington when Steve Scalise, the House majority whip, was shot last week. Father Tim Hedrick was close to Scalise and his family during those trying times and prayed with them.
Republican Steve Scalise of Louisiana was shot by a gunman early June 14 and transported out of a baseball field in Alexandria, a suburb of Washington.
