Actually, they don’t get out much — they’re cloistered. So when they had the chance to meet Pope Francis at the Naples Cathedral last weekend, they went well, a little wild. The poor pope looks a little bewildered by the swarm, and at one point looked like he needed rescuing: Pope-Naples-cloistered-nuns

Meanwhile, Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, who had the microphone, was alternatively amused and mildly scolding, as heard in the video from RomeReports:

“It’s a good thing they are cloistered nuns. Can you imagine if they weren’t?”

“They are going to eat him!”

“Sisters, we have to move on!”

Hey, when you don’t get out much, and have the chance to touch the pope, who cares what a mere cardinal says?
