Should women be ordained as deacons?

This week, Archbishop Paul-Andre Durocher of Gatineau, Quebec, told 300 bishops and priests gathered in Rome for the Synod of Bishops on the family that they should consider allowing women to be deacons as part of an effort to open up more opportunities for women in Church life.
