Famous Catholic funnyman Stephen Colbert paid a visit to chaplain emeritus of Colbert Nation, the Rev. James Martin, SJ, to answer a few questions about his faith.

Colbert said if he could ask Pope Francis a single question, it’d be how he gets a smile on his face each morning.

“The pope seems so happy. So I’m wondering, what’s your regimen in the morning? What are you doing? What’s your five minutes getting out of bed in the morning?” Colbert said.

The two also discuss Catholic music (Colbert’s favorite hymn is “Here I am, Lord,” but he isn’t a fan of guitar Masses); the reason he chose Simon as his confirmation name; and what he’s giving up for Lent.
