While the water crisis in Flint, Michigan draws attention across the country, the silence of the Lansing bishop and other American bishops is bewildering. The children of Flint have been poisoned with impure water. Simple measures like water testing were not taken. The governor has said he’s sorry. It’s not politics that’s to blame for this disaster. A sense of justice on the part of all who contributed to this tragedy is impaired.

Shouldn’t we expect moral outrage from everyone, including our bishops, when outrages like the one in Flint occur?

Sincerely,
Horrified Bystander
