Tragedy struck Fresno once again as three people were killed in a shooting rampage. But the Dioceses of Fresno calls the community to “decide, once again, how we will respond to this senseless tragedy,” and to seize the opportunity to choose light over darkness.
Soon after a shooting during the St. Sebastian Street’s Feast in San Juan, more than 100 young Catholics took to the streets to remind fellow citizens that though the festivity has become more secular during the years, its purpose is to honor the martyr.
In response to the fatal Nov. 2 shooting of two police officers in Des Moines, Bishop Richard Pate said, “This painful moment calls for a full investigation of the incidents, a response of justice and a continuing conversation of the entire community in seeking to resolve conflict in a peaceful manner.”
