Every Sunday when I go to Mass, there’s a woman sitting in the back row with her two grown daughters and their children, and all are talking out loud as if they were at a baseball game. It’s very disruptive. Last week, I noticed that even the priest was distracted by it.

But here’s the thing. This woman and her family are among the most active members of our parish. She or one of her daughters is always teaching catechism classes. They raise money for the church, they work in our gardens, they are always cooking or handing out programs or organizing one or another event.

But even with all her good works, I still think she’s being rude. Is it ok for me to say something to her?
