What’s your stance on ‘ratting’ on co-workers who are slacking?

Every Tuesday we have a 10 a.m. meeting, which this week was canceled. No one was in a rush to come to work, but most of us showed up pretty much on time. One person, however, used the canceled meeting as an excuse to show up around 1 p.m. He said the subway was broken. It may have been broken, but I’m sure he could have made it in earlier.

Now, I’m always running late, so don’t want to be a hypocrite. BUT this guy’s lack of urgency about work has negatively impacted my work. Feels very tattle-tale to say something, but it’s part of a larger pattern of behavior. Okay to call him out or am I over the line?
