    During the ‘ad limina’ visit to the Vatican Canadian bishops had an opportunity to meet with the pope in a private and informal setting, discussing main issues and ideas. The bishops shared their concern on the euthanasia legislation in their country and praised the pope for his joke telling skills.

    Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski of the Ukrainian Diocese of New Westminster, British Columbia, spoke with Crux about their recent meeting with the pope, during which they discussed many issues, including the youth, assisted suicide and sinodality. He also spoke about the “blessings” and “challenges” of ordaining married men into the priesthood, something many eastern Catholic Churches have done for centuries.
